Revue of The Brothers Grimsby

Initial Release Date:  March 5, 2016
Genre: Disgusting Comedy
Directed By: Louis Leterier

Sacha Baron Cohen is back to his old ways. Here, he stars as Nobby, an alcoholic living in a small English town of Grimsby with his girlfriend (Rebel Wilson) and their nine children! Yes, 9 children! He has spent the past 28 years looking for his brother (Mark Strong) who was adopted and taken away to another family. When Nobby finds him, he is surprised to find out that his little brother is an MI6 agent who he must help to crack a case and save his career.

We all know Sacha aka Borat is the king of shock comedy and contrary to what all these wannabe critics say, I think this was pretty decent movie. I hear it did not do well in the box office and I am not sure why. Maybe we are just tired of his brand of comedy like we are towards Adam Sandler.  I can’t lie sha, I had a good laugh which is more than I can say for the comedies I have seen recently.

Sacha was his usual disgusting self with a scene where he hides from the villain in an elephant’s uterus.  Also, there was even a disgusting “tea bagging” incident between the siblings and they even managed to suggest that Donald Trump and Daniel Radcliffe have AIDS! Even the action sequence wasn’t too shabby and though I am not a fan of POV (even in porn) I think it was quite decent.

I am not sure what people were expecting to see (c’mon, it’s Sacha) but I think the movie makes for good entertainment. I don’t care that it was not widely received and that it tanked in the box office but The Brothers Grimsby earns a 6.5/ 10 on my awesome-o-meter.

Talking about POV, who has seen Hardcore Henry? Is it any good? You guys let me know on social media; Twitter: @ThaRevue, Facebook: @ThaRevue or on Instagram: tharevue

Have an awesome weekend.

Piss!
