Most times I talk about hit movies and TV series but I saw something this morning that I couldn’t resist writing about- The Airtel Speedoo Advert.
So I was online this morning looking for cat videos (ehen, bite me), and the advert came up. Quite uncharacteristic of me, I did not skip the advert and decided to just watch it to the end. After the advert, I almost fell out of my chair in hysteric laughter.
Why was I laughing? Glad you asked!
Firstly, the advert was about the incredible speed of the Airtel Internet bundle abi? So the advert was to the effect that internet was so damn fast that a dog perceived the aroma of the food a lady was watching on her phone. Wait, what? Am I the only one that sees a problem with this? How speed and aroma take relate biko?
There was also a guy watching a football match on his phone and his connection speed was so awesome that water splashed on his face from the match he was watching. Fellow Nigerians, how does this relate to internet speed na?
I think the intention was to relay that the Airtel internet speed is so fast that the video resolution is crisp but I think this message was lost in transit.
By the way, whoever came up with the name of that product-“Speedoo”? When I heard of it, the first thing that came to my mind was….
